Sucker for Love

Is it weird that I'm the world's biggest sucker for a good kiss scene? Especially if they're full of angst. Those get me every time.

This is probably my favorite one, from Pirates of the Caribbean 3. I've watched this scene SO MANY times and I still can't get over how good it is. The music! The revolving camera angle! The sexy actors! The blatant disregard for the danger outside of each other! I love it!

I'm such a romantic.

Ha! Right....

My Turn, Jennie!

James McAvoy, will you leave your current wife and marry me?

I just can't deny that you are so incredibly good looking. It makes me so sad that you are, unfortunately, already married. But don't worry, I have a good proposal for you.

I think you have some of the prettiest eyes in the world. I just can't get over how much I love this scene from Atonement:

It's so angsty. And damnit I'm such a sucker for angstiness...

And of course, nobody can deny a good body when they see one. I am no different. I must say, if all I knew about Wanted was this scene:

I still would've gotten myself a ticket in a heartbeat.

So in conclusion, James Mcavoy, even though I know that you are already married, I just can't pass up this opportunity to pronounce my endless infatuation with your sexiness.

It's just not fair that someone else can have you for the rest of her/your/my life.

I hope you accept my proposal.

Love always,
Lindurrrr

Genius.

Oscar Wilde has got to be the wittiest person to have ever walked this earth. I just finished a movie adaptation of his play "Lady Windermere's Fan" and after reading like 50 articles for my film class about it, I have concluded that he is a literary genius. Sadly, all good things must end and he was put on trial, dragged down by homophobic bureaucratic idiots. Damn. He shoulda gone to Berkeley....

Here are some awesome quotes by Mr. Wilde:
  • A man can be happy with any woman as long as he does not love her.
  • Music makes one feel so romantic - at least it always gets on one's nerves - which is the same thing nowadays.
  • Most modern calendars mar the sweet simplicity of our lives by reminding us that each day that passes is the anniversary of some perfectly uninteresting event.
  • If you want to tell people the truth, make them laugh, otherwise they'll kill you.
  • Fashion is a form of ugliness so intolerable that we have to alter it every six months.
  • Why was I born with such contemporaries?
  • A true friend stabs you in the front.
  • My own business always bores me to death; I prefer other people's.
  • Experience is the name everyone gives to their mistakes.
  • The only way to get rid of a temptation is to yield to it.
  • To get back my youth I would do anything in the world, except take exercise, get up early, or be respectable.
  • An excellent man; he has no enemies; and none of his friends like him.
  • Bigamy is having one wife too many. Monogamy is the same.
  • I want my food dead. Not sick, not dying, dead.
  • It is better to be beautiful than to be good. But... it is better to be good than to be ugly.
  • When I was young I thought that money was the most important thing in life; now that I am old I know that it is.
... and in the spirit of the Olympics:
  • America is the only country that went from barbarism to decadence without civilization in between.
... and i think he hates marriage:
  • How marriage ruins a man! It is as demoralizing as cigarettes, and far more expensive.
... and my favorite:
  • There is no sin except stupidity.
Oscar Wilde is my hero.

Traveling Pants

so there's this loop in my pants... where it's frayed and ripped since they drag quite a bit on the ground when i walk. i guess they've been fraying and falling apart for quite a while. in fact, almost all of my pants are fraying at the bottom. but i realize... that i dont really care. i dont know when and i dont know how it happened, but pants just seem to become MADE for fraying. i remember the days when i never even wanted to wear newer clothes because then i'd have to wash them and then they'd fade and it would make me sad. have i turned more materialistic? does knowing that new pants can just be bought make me more... i dunno... different? or maybe i wear my pants to fray them. i think i find some kind of satisfaction in seeing them worn and torn until i have to cut off the extra pieces that hang off. i guess it makes them more comfortable. theres something more rugged and "cool" about having frayed and torn pants. of course, there're the people who spend like 50 bucks on a pair of pants with holes and paint all over it. ok. that's just retarded. i wouldnt spend that much money on a pants like that. LAME.

[cue Olympic theme song]

After watching the 2008 Beijing Olympic Opening Ceremony, I must admit: that was pretty AWESOME. I loved all the cool effects, the costumes, the themes, the performances! The countries were, as usual, incredibly long and boring. The order that they appeared TOTALLY threw me off. WTF's with the frikkin character stroke counting?! Nobody cares -_-. I think they just wanted to make EVERYTHING somehow "Chinese" so of course they couldn't just put the country names in alphabetical order. Way to confuse the hell out of the rest of the world, good job China.

The US, of course, looked HELLA spiffy in their Ralph Lauren gear (which looked like they were torn straight off the logo). :D

Then there's China and all 630 athletes that like flood the field in their BRIGHT red and yellow gear (which the tv made look like NEON PINK. haha i thought that was funny). Ok so maybe it's just me... but I guess I really don't like the Chinese in the Olympics. I never really did. Yeah.... so I'm Chinese and everything.... But I've ALWAYS rooted for the American athletes. I just like them so much more! I think a large part of it was.... that my mom and my family are REALLY jingo Chinese, and it bugs the hell out of me.

Here's what I don't like about the Chinese and Olympics:
  • They are WAYYYY too obsessed with beating USA at the medal race.
  • Everything is so strategized. I was listening to the commentary during the Opening Ceremony and it seems like the Chinese specialized their athletes in certain sports that they are strong in so they can get the most medals possible.
  • I feel like athletes have less freedom in what they can do with their own moments of glory at the Olympics. Hand-picked athletes to compete and win medals. How desperate can they get?
America better beat their asses in the medal count. I'm excited XD

Life is wasted on the living.

So there's that one moment of every day that has you saying "What the hell am I doing with my life?"

Well for me, if I'm not sleeping or eating or performing some other necessary bodily function, I'm probably watching useless YouTube videos, Chinese dramas, in class (heh...), randomly dancing, or commuting from one event to another.

I guess I'm slowly wasting away in my idleness.

and I love it.

Let the lazy-ass lounging continue....
